In Search of the Perfect Little Man design!

So, now that I am 20 weeks preggo, I am super excited to start getting ready for our little man!  I found a bumper that is super cute....  but now I need some ideas for decor to go along with it!
I'm not one to go with a "theme," I would rather go with accenting items!
Give me your ideas!!!
This would be the front... I love the pastel green as an accent!
The pictures really don't do justice how cute it is!

This is the inside.  Note the edges and ties are a navy blue print.

So, here is what I was thinking... Going with the navy blue pattern for a bed skirt and window valance? But, what kind of Framed art with his name (when decide what that will be) and maybe a canvas painting made by an artist I know. ( i would love to hear your ideas on designs!!!)
The bed and diaper changer is white...

I also found this idea from Chic & Cheap Nursery.  Was wondering how hard it would be to make?

There! I believe that is all
Now go brain storm and bring me some amazing ideas!!!
The one to come up with a super awesome like idea will win
a "sweet surprise"

What does Easter look like to you?

I hope everyone had a great Easter yesterday!!!  Our family thoroughly enjoyed ourselves!  We decided after church to take some pics since we were all dressed up :)  Thought you might enjoy them.

I began to ponder on everything we have to be thankful for.  What an awesome Savior we have that died on the cross for our sins.  I believe the best part of that story is that after the end of that sentence, it really was NOT over!  It was just the beginning!  I was telling little-bit about the Easter story yesterday and how if Jesus had not died and rose again we wouldn't be able to give Easter baskets to the ones we love.  It began to make me think of what God gave us...  a little miracle. We give thanks every day for what we have been given!  I just want to show you a pic of what she looked like last Easter.

She was born in December at 2 lb. 2 oz, came home from the hospital right before Valentine's at 3 lb, and now a month later here she is on Easter :)  She has already grown up to be such an amazing young lady!

This made a great start to my week and I hope it helps your Monday out as well!

This was NO pool party!

Mommy decided to get little-bit's pool out today!  I honestly thought it was hot enough! I couldn't wait to see the reaction on her face (she LOVES bath time!)  She looks so cute in her bathing suit! :)

I forgot about being little and how cold the water was....  Needless to say, I forgot to let the sun warm the pool up for a few hours before playing.  Little-bit was not a happy girl!
She was out of that water faster than I could catch a cute pic! Sorry little-bit!  Maybe tomorrow it will get warmer!  I guess that is how we learn to be great parents...  sometimes you have to learn by the mistakes you make.  i will take this as a great lesson and start earlier next time!

I can't believe I have a 17 month old (almost) and one little man who has been kicking up a storm for 19 weeks now!  What an awesome little family!!!  :)  Now that the shock of having a boy is wearing off, hubby and I are super excited! We just need to hit up some yard sales this weekend! haha

My freezer doesn't look like your freezer!

Did you know that Chick-fil-A has text message alerts that can be sent to your phone specifically for that location? Well, where we live, we subscribed to about 5 of them within 20 minutes of our house.  Before you ask, No, I don't ever get tired of eating there!  Now that little-bit eats with us we can only hope to save money while eating out!

Today we woke up with a text from one about 20 minutes away. If you bought a large milkshake you would get a free calendar (which has about $35 worth of coupons in them)!!!! Well, we were sooo excited since the calendars themselves normally run $6 with no specials at the beginning of the year.  After calling the parents and taking their orders (since no one has them... unless they find 300 in a storage closet somewhere.  lol), we ended up getting 20 calendars.  We were hoping they would give us coupons to get the milkshakes later... but they had none.

So this is what we came home with :)

20 cookies n cream milkshakes!

Yes, i know, this is fattening.  So i was wondering.... who would like to come over???  First come-First serve.  :)  We even have the cherries to put on top!

2. Matching fake ties sewn on shirts for dad and little man
3. Recycled shirts made into hats
4. Bow ties :)
5.  leg warmers
6. Burp cloth/blankets
7. Booties

Does anyone have any other ideas to try???  Leave me a comment we will see if I can make it work!

The Wait is Over!!!!

I'm sure everyone is just dying with anticipation for the gender of our little one!
I know we were this morning laying on the uncomfortable seat waiting for the goop
to be smeared on my belly.
We went into the office pretty much knowing what we were having....
SUPRISE!

I know! I know!  We were totally wrong! lol  I asked the nurse, "Are you sure that's his parts?"  I think she hears that quite often! So, time to put away the dresses and bring out the cute little outfits. Am I even allowed to say "cute"?? I am so lost! :)

So here HE is, showing the world all his glory!  (Let's just hope no one is wrong)  Now we begin to hunt down a great name!

The Great Debate

Tomorrow is the day!  So the time has come, my friends.  Will we have a girl? Will we have a boy?  We will NOT be having both thankfully, though! lol

Here are some things about my pregnancy to help you decide what I am having...

-I am showing more with this one
-I believe I might be carrying a little higher? (not too sure on that)
-I was just as hungry as the first time
-I havent started feeling this one move as much as the last
-My hair isn't as stringy as the last time
-I'm not craving anything exotic or disgusting

So there you have it ladies and gentlemen.  I will be accepting names once the verdict is in tomorrow.  I have a pic of baby #2 from several weeks ago so you can get a peek of the cuteness!

Come back tomorrow to find out the gender :)

Happy Monday to all!!!!

The Potty is your friend

Tonight for the first time we (meaning little-bit who just turned 16 mo. or 13 gest.) decided to use the new potty seat we got for free from Amazon.  We also received the purple hippo step stool to go with it today!  :)  I was a little curious as to how she was going to react to sitting there....  She LOVED it!  We tried before bath time and after (no tinkles but lots of giggles) and she just sat there wiggling her toes.  I have decided that cheap toilet paper is the way to go in her bath for a while.  She blew her nose twice and unrolled the rest.  It was a great start to our evening bath routine.  I have another one downstairs we are going to start randomly using during the day as well.

Please leave me comments of your success stories from your little ones!!!!  I need some inspiration :)

Taking time to save

I thought it would be appropriate to start my blog with this awesome deal that I have been receiving at my door step for several days now!

This isn't all of it!!! I still have some making its way here. :)  Believe it or not, this cost me around $21 total.  $15 for the diapers and $6 for the rest.  How did I do it?  Well, here is my little secret.

There are a few parenting magazines that are giving away Amazon coupons in them every month.  They will either be 20% off or $10 off (they have to be used on baby products, sold by amazon, and yes, they can be combined). You will also receive FREE 2 day shipping on these items.  With my diapers, I use Amazon mom (which makes me get 15% off) and I use the subscribe and save for another 15% (which can be cancelled as soon as you receive your order).  This makes your diapers 50% off and then another $10 off as well.  Amazing, right?!?

I went to the doctors office just a few days before the coupons were going to expire and asked to have any remaining ones they had in the magazines they get.  I came up with twenty something of them?? You have to make individual transactions and it take a LONG time to find things right around that price range that you need, but it is well worth it in the end!

Sometimes you have to make time...  taking time out of my vacation made our family money! :)  Now I just need to start showing little-bit those potty seats before baby #2 comes along!

Now let me in on your saving secrets!!!
